The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has granted Myer interim authorisation to coordinate various promotions with existing businesses operating in its Myer stores.

These businesses license or rent floor space from Myer and are operated independently of Myer.

"The interim authorisation enables Myer to continue its current arrangements, while the ACCC considers the substantive application for authorisation," ACCC commissioner Jill Walker said.

“The ACCC may review the interim authorisation at any time and this decision should not be taken to be indicative of whether or not final authorisation will be granted.”

The ACCC has sought submissions from interested parties on Myer’s substantive application for authorisation. A draft decision on the substantive application is likely to be issued in November.
