The best in Australian and New Zealand ecommerce were celebrated at the StarTrack Online Retail Industry Awards (ORIAS) recently.

Entering its eighth year, online retail’s night of nights recognised a range of categories including Online Retailer of the Year, which went to Mon Purse. The accessories retailer also won Best In-Store Initiative and Best International Conqueror.

This year saw the return of the ‘Hall of Fame’ award, an invitation-only honour for an outstanding retailer. The 2017 inductee was Dan Murphy’s, which was recognised for its contributions over the life of the awards.

Kate Morris, CEO and founder of Adore Beauty, took home the Industry Recognition award, the first woman to do so in ORIAS’ history.

Electronics retailer Kogan won the StarTrack ORIAS People’s Choice award, while alternative clothing retailer Beserk took out the People’s Choice award for Small Retailers.

StarTrack CEO and Australia Post group chief operations officer, Bob Black, said more Australians were buying online than ever before, and that Australian retailers continued to offer world-class experiences.

“It’s fantastic to see Kogan and Beserk take out top honours. Kogan has continued to lead the industry by their enduring commitment to their customers, and the Australian public have recognised that by voting them the winner of the 2017 StarTrack People’s Choice award,” he said.

“It’s a true Australian success story, and a great time for Kogan, who have finished their first year as a listed business, exceeding all expectations and continuing to grow. And Beserk has continued to enhance their offering, which has seen them take out the small retailer award for the second straight year.”
