American Express, together with Two Good and Deliveroo, will support women impacted by domestic violence by donating 3,000 meals to women’s refuges in NSW.

American Express is expanding Two Good’s ‘buy one, gift one’ model and encouraging its card members to get involved in the initiative. To gift one of the 3,000 meals, card members simply need to use their eligible American Express Card to pay for any order on Deliveroo until 12 June 2020, and a Two Good meal will be delivered to a woman in need courtesy of American Express.

As well as providing meals for those at risk, Two Good support, train and employ people from shelters within their business providing financial stability, independence and opportunity for long-term employment.

American Express general counsel and Two Good advisory board member, Ryan Rayfield said, “We’ve been staying close to our community partners during this unprecedented time to determine how we could best support them, and those they serve. The work that Two Good does is invaluable to women experiencing domestic or family violence, but the increased pressure on those in unsafe situations and support services caused by the COVID-19 crisis has made their role in the community more important than ever.

“With the current surge in demand for food delivery services, we’ve made it as easy as possible for our Card Members to make a real difference to those in need, at no additional cost to themselves.”

Two Good founder, Rob Caslick commented, “The work we do goes beyond feeding people. Meals that are donated are prepared by women from the same safe houses they serve, providing them with pathways to employment. When you support Two Good, you’re not only providing a nutritious meal to someone in need, but paid employment to women who are on the verge of homelessness and an uncertain future.”

Deliveroo Australia CEO, Ed McManus added, “We’ve been working with Two Good since launching in Australia in late 2015: being purpose-driven is at the heart of what we do.  This initiative was a no-brainer for us, aligning with our key commitments of zero hunger and good health and wellbeing.”

Customers are encouraged to get involved by purchasing from any restaurant on Deliveroo with their American Express Card and by joining the conversation by using the hashtag #bettertwogether.

Until 31 July eligible American Express card members can also earn bonus Membership Rewards Points, Altitude Rewards, Velocity Points or Qantas Frequent Flyer points for every $1 spent with Deliveroo.
