Beaumont Tiles has acquired a family-established Queensland-based business Majer Tiles.
As part of the acquisition, Beaumont Tiles will now own Majer Tiles’ six stores and two warehouses in Brisbane, Cairns, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Townsville.
The deal boosts its Queensland presence to 25 stores and 91 Australia-wide and is South Australia-headquartered Beaumont Tiles’ third major acquisition. The company has a mix of franchises and corporate outlets and has undertaken three small single store acquisitions in recent years.
“While the commitment to service will stay the same, home and commercial customers will notice an expanded product range and lower prices that the expanded group’s buying power will bring,” Bob Beaumont, Beaumont Tiles managing director, said.
As part of the move, the former managing director of Majer Tiles has been appointed Queensland state manager of Beaumont Tiles.
Majer said the announcement is great news for his employees and the construction and home improvement sectors generally.
“We are working towards retaining all current Majer Tiles employees and this will be a catalyst for the opening of a new warehouse in Brisbane,” he said.
“Beaumont Tiles will make a $2 million-plus investment in integrating I.T. systems.”
