Hypercom continues to expand its footprint in Australia by strengthening its relationship with Westpac Banking.
As part of a five year agreement that was announced in November 2009, Hypercom is currently deploying 15,000 of its Optimum countertop terminals to Westpac’s retail outlets.
The Optimum countertop terminals have mains power connectivity without the added cost of needing a phone line.
John Tait, Hypercom general manager, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region, told Retailbiz that Hyercom hopes that this partnership is for years to come.
“We’ve been working Westpac for more than two years and it’s a long term relationship and this deployment is just part of a larger relationship,” he said.
According to Tait, Hypercom has been servicing Westpac’s fleet terminals as part of its contract.
The order by Westpac is the first of several purchases and deployments planned. Additionally Hypercom, through its wholly owned subsidiary ACG, has in the last two months started providing service and support to Westpac’s entire installed base of more than 80,000 terminals.
