Hexnode, the enterprise software division of Mitsogo, is extending its Kiosk Lockdown support to ChromeOS, providing organisations with enhanced control over their single-purpose and customer-facing endpoints.
The company is also adding digital signage capabilities to its Windows kiosk management offering.
According to Hexnode, businesses can can bolster device security and make sure that displays continue to be both timely and appropriate by limiting access to non-essential applications and centralising content management.
“As businesses rely more on purpose-built devices for customer engagement, even brief downtime can disrupt operations and the customer experience,” said Sahad M, Chief Technology Officer at Hexnode.
“Recognising this, we are committed to providing reliable kiosk and digital signage tools that help businesses transform everyday devices into secure, easily manageable interaction hubs.”
Hexnode noted that ChromeOS is increasingly recognised as a chosen platform for kiosk deployment due to its inexpensiveness, compactness, and cloud-first system.
Companies using kiosks with ChromeOS have seen growth in sales and effectiveness, which makes it well-suited for applications like self-service machines and exam stations for students.
Hexnode’s key features for managing ChromeOS kiosks include Single-App Kiosk Mode, Multi-App Kiosk Mode, Power and Accessibility Settings, and Remote Management.
Meanwhile, Windows continues to be commonly used for digital signage, ranking behind Android, due to its durable hardware, reliable performance, and extensive compatibility with signage software and external devices.
Windows-powered signage is applied to advertise promotions, present menus, and pass on internal information. As digital signage has been shown to increase customer visits by 80 per cent, timely and targeted messaging has also grown significantly.
Hexnode helps businesses deliver content efficiently through its Content Deployment, Loop Video Mode, and Full-Screen Display functions.
Aside from ChromeOS, Hexnode also supports major platforms including macOS, iOS, Apple TV, Windows, and Android.
This consolidated setup is expected to enable IT teams to smoothly secure and manage interactive kiosks and digital signages throughout various groups of devices.
