Umall has introduced a “Click & Collect” model, with 14 pick-up points across Sydney. Taking inspiration from Woolworths and Coles, the service enables customers to order groceries online and collect them from accessible community-based sites.
This expansion follows a period of significant growth, with Umall achieving 12 straight months of profitability and a 175 percent increase in year-on-year sales. The company’s annual revenue is projected to surpass $100 million in 2025. In the Sydney market alone, over 2,100 daily orders have been fulfiled and continue to rise.
The Click & Collect model boosts route efficiency by consolidating orders at one location, cutting per-order costs, lowering carbon emissions, and maintaining peak-time logistics performance.
Using AI-driven dispatch and warehouse systems, sales data and real-time order patterns are continuously analysed to enhance routes, warehouse rhythm, and delivery schedules. The recently launched pick-up network offers increased flexibility for Sydney’s diverse households.
Through the Umall app, customers can place orders, choose a convenient pick-up location, and collect their ordered items on the same day. Community-based locations strengthen links between local producers and consumers, especially in in areas underserved by large-scale retailers.
Umall is set to scale its Click & Collect network throughout Sydney over the next year, with a rollout in Melbourne to follow. The company views its hybrid model as essential to building a scalable and sustainable grocery ecosystem in Australia.
“Centralised drop-off points allow us to serve more customers faster while maintaining freshness and quality. It’s a smarter, greener model that complements our same-day delivery network,” said a company spokesperson.
