eBay’s advertising network business Shopping.com has been re-launched as the eBay Commerce Network (ECN).

The eBay Commerce Network (ECN) connects buyers and sellers in Australia and internationally by providing advertisers (retailers) with access to a network of leading publishers and websites. It brings together 8,000 merchants and 2,000 publishers to provide access to 250 million consumers globally.

Advertisers can reach consumers at every stage in their shopping experience from awareness to purchase. The network spans search engines (Bing), content sites (CNET), shopping portals (The Find) and marketplaces (eBay). Shopping.com will continue as a price comparison and online shopping destination – within the eBay Commerce Network.

“The Shopping.com business has been completely transformed since it was acquired by eBay in 2005. This re-brand reflects the changes that have occurred within our business. It more accurately reflects the value that we deliver to merchants and supports our current and future integration within eBay Inc.,” said Adam Shalagin, Australia country manager, eBay Commerce Network.

“Our strategy and investment as the eBay Commerce Network is focused on enhancing and scaling our robust network. We’re working on innovations that will deliver increased value to advertisers and bring new advertising solutions to market that are enhanced with eBay assets.”

ECN focuses on product listing ads, which drive traffic directly to the merchant’s website and link to an immediate opportunity to buy. Merchant customers in Australia include Kogan, The Iconic, 1st Choice Liquor, oo.com.au and CrazySales.com.au.
