A pop-up shop specialty service has arrived in Australia with instant retail, a one stop shop for all pop-up needs.
Following the global rise of the pop-up phenomenon for retail sales, online stores and temporary installations, instant retail founder and principal Scott Williams identified the gap in services for the changing retail environment in 2010.
“Pop-up shops are a win-win situation for retailers and landlords as well as consumers,” he explains. “Fashion brands and retailers can launch a new range or move stock quickly, and landlords are provided with an opportunity to promote an otherwise dark and empty shop.
“Buyers are drawn to pop-ups because of their temporary nature, they are often highly original in concept and create talkability for the brand.”
The innovative supplier of shopfittings and services for temporary installations specialises in the hire of fixtures to suit pop-up shops. Some of its clients include Peter Lang (pop-up outlet for their fashion jewellery), Decjuba (Collingwood warehouse sale) and Zoggs (swimwear trade show displays).
“Weekend markets and Town Hall sales have been using this concept successfully for decades, although temporary pop-up installations also aim to excite consumers through their unique and inspiring installations. Pop-ups certainly make sense for emerging online brands to go public with the occasional retail outlet.
“Pop-up shops increase the exclusivity and innovating nature of brands, and I believe they will soon be a staple for the retail industry,” he adds.
