Myer has opened a fulfilment warehouse in partnership with logistics provider Cargo Services Group to support the growth of its online store.
Myer general manager online Richard Harrison said the arrangement would support Myer’s existing in store fulfilment model and ensure Myer is well placed to provide improved online customer service moving into the peak Christmas trading period.
“This partnership with Cargo Services takes Myer another step closer to delivering a leading omni-channel offer for our customers,” he said.
“The Myer online warehouse will support existing store fulfilment, complementing our current fulfilment stores.
“To further support online fulfilment, a number of system enhancements were recently deployed to better connect our online ordering and warehouse systems, and store fulfilment. The new systems will provide efficiencies in the order management process and help improve delivery speeds to our customers.”
The warehouse is located in Maidstone, Victoria and will be fully managed by Cargo Services and stocked with Myer’s 15,000 most frequently ordered online products. The warehouse will service orders made through myer.com.au, as well orders made through the Myer Customer Service Centre.
Group managing director of Cargo Services Group John Lau said the new warehouse capabilities would further strengthen Cargo Services existing partnership with Myer, helping to deliver improved service to Myer’s online customers.
“As Myer’s worldwide logistics partner, Cargo Services has been integral in helping Myer develop a world-class supply chain, “he said.
“We are proud to be able to offer Myer logistics support, and enable improved delivery speed and efficiencies for their online business.”
