Woolworths has committed to lowering the prices of nearly 400 items that consumers regularly purchase, starting on May 14, 2025.
Amanda Bardwell, Woolworths CEO, said the price reductions will focus on highly rated family favourites such as Greek yoghurt, frozen berries, chicken schnitzel, as well as essentials like flour, bread, rice, and nappies.
Consumers can expect an average price drop of 10 per cent, with the lower prices set to remain in place at least until 2026.
“This isn’t just a short-term promotion; it’s about lower shelf prices on the products we know customers regularly shop for, and providing genuine, lasting and dependable value they can count on,” said Bardwell.
“Individually, each lower shelf price might not seem like a dramatic difference, but they will add up to real savings.”
Earlier this month, Woolworths said its sales grew 3.2 per cent year over year to $17.31 billion in the fiscal third quarter, attributed to the positive performance across the majority of its segments.
In that same sales report, the company noted it had reduced prices on over 340 products under its Lower Autumn Price program.
