Woolworths and Cricket Australia have extended their nationwide partnership for another three years, continuing their joint focus on developing young cricketers.
Under the renewed agreement, Woolworths will maintain its support for grassroots cricket as naming rights sponsor of the Woolworths Cricket Blast program for kids and the Official Supermarket Partner of Cricket Australia and the Australian Men’s and Women’s International Teams.
The Woolworths Cricket Blast program provides children aged up to 10 with opportunities to learn cricket skills and develop confidence through structured, game-based activities. Since Woolworths became the naming rights sponsor in 2018, the program has attracted more than 470,000 participants.
The Woolworths Community Fund is a key part of the partnership, providing funding to local cricket clubs to help children have access to the sport. Since the program’s launch, over $2.5 million has been invested, allowing more than 50,000 kids to play for free and become active members of their local communities.
As part of the partnership, the Woolworths Cricket Blast First XI program acknowledges young participants who show strong skills, teamwork, leadership, and passion for the game. Eleven winners will be awarded a special experience at the KFC BBL Final on January 25, 2026.
Nominations for this year’s First XI are now open, with all Woolworths Cricket Blast participants eligible for consideration. Parents, coaches, and community members are invited to nominate a young player who displays exceptional participation, effort, and positive sporting spirit.
The nomination period runs from September 29 to December 21, 2025.
“We are thrilled to announce the continuation of our partnership with Woolworths for another three years. Their support for junior cricket participation, particularly through the Woolworths Cricket Blast Program, has been instrumental in the ongoing growth of our game,” said Ed Sanders, Cricket Australia’s Chief Commercial Officer.
“Woolworths’ amazing support of our clubs and volunteers is making it easier and more fun for kids to get active and play cricket in a positive and social environment. We are grateful to Woolworths for helping to inspire the next generation of cricketers.”
“At Woolies, we’re committed to inspiring the next generation of healthy, active kids, and community sport is a vital part of that,” said Sarah De La Mare, Woolworths’ Head of Community & Sponsorships.
“Seeing nearly half a million kids get involved in Woolworths Cricket Blast is fantastic, and through initiatives like the Community Fund, we’re making the sport more accessible for all. We’re especially excited to open nominations for this year’s First XI and celebrate the brilliant kids who show great spirit and love for the game.”
