Urban Outfitters posted record net income in the fiscal first quarter on the back of higher sales across all its brands and segments.
The group’s net income soared 75.4 per cent year over year to US$108.3 million as net sales grew 10.7 per cent to US$1.33 billion in the three months ended April 30, 2025.
Its retail segment sales rose 6.4 per cent to US$1.13 billion while subscription segment sales swelled 59.5 per cent to US$124.4 million.
Sales of its wholesale segment climbed 24.2 per cent to US$74.6 million.
“Our success was driven by positive sales growth and improved profitability across all brands and segments,” said Richard A. Hayne, CEO of Urban Outfitters.
“We believe these results demonstrate the strength of our brands and the effectiveness of our strategy, giving us confidence in URBN’s continued success.”
The group’s brand portfolio includes Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outfitters, Nuuly, and Menus & Venues.
During the quarter, the company opened 13 new retail locations including nine Free People stores, two Urban Outfitters stores, and two Anthropologie stores.
