Melbourne-founded Sheet Society opened its first South Australian store at Burnside Village in late October, making it the company’s fourth store nationwide.
The new shop features the ‘Open Home’ retail concept, creating an inviting and home-like environment for customers while they shop.
“Burnside is the first true expression of our ‘Open Home’ concept. We wanted to create a space that feels alive and inviting, where people feel welcome to linger, explore, and connect with our brand and products in a meaningful way,” said Hayley Worley, co-founder of Sheet Society.
Sheet Society’s Burnside store spans 220sqm and is designed to resemble a lived-in space rather than a typical retail layout. Aligned with the brand’s Open Home concept, the store includes open windows that draw visitors inside, along with natural light and soft music for a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Co-designed with InAddition Studio, the store uses grey terracotta pavers that transition into timber floors to guide visitors through the area. The American oak front with curtains combines openness and warmth, while modular shelving, textured surfaces, and interactive displays emphasise detail.
As a B Corp-certified brand, Sheet Society selected durable and natural materials for visual appeal and environmental integrity.
Room Service sits at the centre of the store, offering a personalised shopping experience. Guests can build their ideal bed by choosing fabrics, colours, and sizes with the freedom to mix and match styles. The service also involves expert guidance, free swatches, and one-on-one styling sessions suited to customers’ preferences and space.
The Burnside store will display Sheet Society’s expanded lifestyle collection, which contains towels, blankets, cushions, and wellness products that support better sleep. A new sleepwear line will launch soon in a bedroom-style area at the back of the store, and a kids’ section with interactive games will be added to entertain children while their parents shop.
“We’re building spaces, not just stores, that reflect who we are as a brand. We care deeply about design, sustainability, and creating an experience that feels personal, comforting, and inspiring.”
