Paintback partnered with Argon & Co for the opening of its Paint Circular Economy Headquarters (PaCE HQ) in Braeside, Victoria.
The new facility, dedicated to reclaiming and repurposing unwanted paint and packaging, can process up to 40,000 kilograms of material per day.
Moreover, it is expected to prevent more than 3,100 tonnes of paint, nearly 600 tonnes of metal, and over 360 tonnes of plastic from entering landfill each year.
In addition, the facility is projected to reduce around 1,360 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
Argon & Co participated in the project from the early design phase through to implementation and commissioning, supporting Paintback through regulatory approvals, engineering hurdles, and governance frameworks.
Following approval of the facility design by Paintback’s board, Argon & Co deployed a project team to oversee detailed design, contractor management, commissioning, safety planning, and operator training.
“Argon & Co has been instrumental in turning our vision into a functioning reality,” said Paintback CEO John Ferraro.
“Their technical and strategic expertise, combined with their on-the-ground leadership, has helped us deliver a facility that not only redefines paint recovery but also sets the benchmark for circular economy infrastructure.”
The PaCE HQ will also serve as a research and development hub for new applications of reclaimed paint, including initiatives such as Paintback Greyscale, which aims to expand the potential of recovered materials.
