Wesfarmers has appointed John Gualtieri as the new managing director of Officeworks, succeeding Sarah Hunter who will step down in August 2025.
“It has been a privilege to lead Officeworks. Since 2019, we have grown revenue by over 8 per cent per annum and made good progress on our strategic agenda,” said Hunter.
“Now is the right time for me to take on a new challenge, and I look forward to following Officeworks’ continued success under John’s leadership.”
Gualtieri is currently the CEO of Kmart and Target Australia. He began working at Kmart as divisional merchandise manager of home and furniture in 2008.
Prior to joining Kmart, he worked at Myer, where he held various leadership positions.
“John’s deep retail and commercial experience, coupled with his leadership skills, will take Officeworks into its next phase of growth. His appointment highlights the strength of Wesfarmers’ leadership and talent development processes,” said Rob Scott, Wesfarmers Managing Director.
