IKEA Rhodes in Sydney has launched 54 new Pick-up lockers in the carpark near the existing click and collect area, enabling customers to shop and collect their orders either early in the morning or late at night.
The lockers are designed to accommodate orders of all sizes, ranging from essential home furnishing accessories to larger flatpack furniture items. Customers may collect their orders from the lockers daily, between 3am and midnight.
Pick-up locker use costs the same as click and collect, with no charge for IKEA Family members and a starting price of $5 for non-members.
To use the service, customers must select the ‘Pick-up locker’ option when placing orders online through the IKEA app, remote shopping or in-store. Upon selection, they will receive an email notification containing a unique PIN which allows them to access the locker at their convenience.
The new Pick-up lockers provide an additional option for customers, supporting IKEA’s omnichannel shopping approach in Australia by offering greater flexibility in time and location.
“We are always looking for ways to make shopping at IKEA more convenient and
accessible. We’re excited to be able to give our Sydney customers the opportunity to now pick up their orders with one quick stop at any time that suits them,” said Michael Davey-Sutherland, Fulfilment Development Manager at IKEA Australia.
“We look forward to seeing how our customers in the Rhodes area respond to Pick-up lockers and hope to roll them out across more of our stores Australia-wide.”
