YouTuber group How Ridiculous has launched Tea Industries, a sugar-free iced tea brand, in Australia and the US.
The range includes flavours such as peach and aloe vera and is currently available in Australia through IGA stores, convenience stores, and over 300 school canteens.
In the US, the tea brand was launched through Amazon and Walmart’s online platforms.
“We’ve always tried to make content that’s pushed boundaries of what’s possible since 2009, so Tea Industries was the next natural step for us because the ethos is the same,” said Stanford.
Developed in Australia, Tea Industries was built around the goal of creating a flavourful and nourishing drink aligned with healthy living. The team had spent the past year working alongside Alexa Stathakis, CEO of Tea Industries, to establish and present the brand.
The introduction coincides with public health discussions about sugar consumption and children’s health. In Australia, around one in four children are overweight or obese, prompting health organisations like the Australian Medical Association to support the World Health Organisation’s call for national taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages.
Similar policies are already in place in countries such as the UK and France to reduce consumption and enhance population health.
“Disappointed by the absence of sugar-free and artificial sweetener-free options in mainstream stores, we were driven by a belief that hydration should enhance health, not hinder it, and so, Tea Industries emerged,” said Stathakis.
“Our range of flavoured tea drinks offers a refreshing alternative to conventional hydration choices, catering to both personal wellness and broader public health.”
The Tea Industries products are available at A$4.50 per can.
