Fashion brand Henne has opened a new boutique at 1008 High Street in Armadale, reflecting its development from a digital-first label to a well-established contemporary fashion brand.

The Armadale store opening comes after the successful launches of Henne’s flagship stores on Greville Street in Melbourne and in Paddington, Sydney.

“Armadale has been on our radar for a long time – it’s Melbourne’s premier retail strip and such a natural next step for the brand. We wanted to find the right space that truly reflected who we are today, and this store felt like the perfect fit,” said Nadia Bartel, Director of Henne.

“It’s much larger than our previous boutiques, allowing us to create a more immersive experience for our customers with additional fitting rooms and dedicated areas to explore the collection. As Henne continues to grow, our stores have become an important way to connect with our community in a more personal way and share the brand experience in real life.”

Designed in collaboration with AP Design House, the interior blends Henne’s Australian roots and Nordic design influences, making references to an ‘80s or ‘90s Australian rag-trade warehouse with mid-century elements.

The space incorporates brickwork, exposed timber trusses, aged leather sofas, vintage Italian and Finnish lighting, and custom steel joinery. Restored skylights bring in natural light, resulting in a warm, textured setting.

“We stripped the space back to its rawest form and let its history guide us. The ceiling is a hero of the design. It was rebuilt to allow for timber boards, ripe to age,” said Alexandra Ponting, Interior Designer at AP Design House.

“Existing skylights were retained, and new ones added. It is a long dwelling, and natural light was a shared desire. Each finish was selected for their grounding qualities, while the mirrors offer a lightness in contrast to the earthen finishes.”

“The vintage furniture and lighting each have their own story, with a lived-in quality that invites you to stay a little longer. The palette feels layered, warm and natural, creating a calm foundation for Henne’s minimal silhouettes. The result is a retail space that feels both architectural and intimate, and quietly confident, just like the brand itself.”

In celebration of the Armadale boutique opening, Henne is running a week-long activation from November 1 to 7, with daily experiences and giveaways in partnership with select local and lifestyle brands. The program features rotating food, beauty, and lifestyle offerings, as well as limited Henne items.

Each day’s offer is shared in the morning on Henne’s social media channels. Participating brands include Mecca, Kerastase, Green Cup, Lui Body, Hectors Deli, 35mm Co, Ruben’s Deli, YSL Beauty, Albert’s Wine Bar, among others.

Henne has also released an exclusive eight-piece capsule collection at the Armadale boutique. The range consists of wardrobe staples and warm-weather separates, presenting updated versions of the brand’s popular styles, along with limited-edition pieces.

The capsule is completed by a cord pendant necklace co-designed with Anna Rossi.
