Victoria Station

Luggage and bag chains Victoria Station and Kate Hill, owned by the Victoria Station Corporation, are the latest retailers to call in administrators.

Documents lodged with corporate regulator ASIC yesterday (2 May) show administrators had been appointed because the Victoria Station Corporation board thought it was or will become insolvent.

The first Victoria Station store was opened in Victoria in 1990, selling well-known luggage brands. The company now also manufacturers its own products and has 43 stores across the country, with locations in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, Queensland and South Australia.

Subsidiary Kate Hill, which sells women’s handbags, wallets and accessories, has 21 stores.

The news follows a string of other Australian retailers calling in administrators, including Pumpkin Patch, Howards Storage World, Marcs, David Lawrence, Herringbone, and Rhodes and Beckett.
