An increasing number of major Australian retailers are offering Australia Post's Parcel Locker as a delivery option at checkout.

An increasing number of major Australian retailers are offering Australia Post’s Parcel Locker as a delivery option at checkout, giving online shoppers greater flexibility about when and where they get their items.

More than 100 retailers, including Myer, JB Hi-Fi, Booktopia, The Iconic, Country Road Group, ASOS, Adore Beauty, Sephora, and Zara, have included the option, which allows consumers to opt for a safe Parcel Locker or Post Office location to pick up their orders.

Australia Post operates over 800 24/7 Parcel Lockers and more than 4,000 Post Offices in Australia. The service is designed to increase convenience, particularly for customers that are unavailable to receive deliveries during business hours, such as apartment dwellers and shift workers.

Australia Post Executive General Manager of Parcel, Post and eCommerce Services Gary Starr said growing take-up of the service is evidence of shifting consumer expectations.

“More retailers are adopting Parcel Lockers and Post Office collection because it gives their customers greater choice, flexibility and peace of mind,” said Starr.

“As more of our shopping habits shift online, we’re committed to helping retailers deliver a better, more convenient experience.”

Australia Post said the broadening of the delivery option is part of its overall strategy to enable e-commerce growth and improve the customer delivery experience.
