Australia Post has introduced Australia Post Parcels, dedicated to sending, collecting and returning parcels more efficiently.

Australia Post has introduced Australia Post Parcels, a modern Post Office format dedicated to sending, collecting and returning parcels more efficiently.

The first two Australia Post Parcels locations have opened in Fitzroy, Victoria and Waterloo, New South Wales.

Additional sites are expected to open in St Leonards, NSW and Chadstone, VIC soon.

Australia Post Parcels feature combined staffed service counters with self-service features such as 24/7 Parcel Lockers and self-service kiosks.

Some locations will include a separate 24/7 access zone, which customers can enter using a one-time code generated through the Australia Post app.

“The number one reason a customer visits the Post Office is to collect a parcel, so we’re making it easier and quicker to collect and send parcels at a time that suits them,” said Josh Bannister, Executive GM for Retail, Brand and Marketing at Australia Post.

“With Aussies shopping more online than ever before, we’re evolving our network to keep pace with how our customers are using postal services.”

Select trial locations will also offer round-the-clock access to vending machines stocked with packaging, stamps and other mailing supplies.

Australia Post said that the rollout has been guided by customer insights, including parcel traffic data and usage trends, to ensure the stores are placed where demand is strongest.

Traditional full-service Post Offices remain available nearby.

According to Australia Post, the model is designed to be scalable and adaptable, with a compact footprint and an efficient back-of-house setup to handle high parcel volumes, reflecting a shift toward a more agile, future-ready retail network.
