AliExpress has launched its annual 6.18 Sale, which started on June 11, with major deals on thousands of products.
This year, the event highlights and supports Australian businesses. The online retail service operates using a direct and marketplace model, serving as a platform that assists local businesses in expanding to global markets.
Additionally, its upcoming local-to-local model will provide Australian brands with an extra sales channel within the e-commerce system.
Under this model, merchants handle their own delivery, at the same time, gain access to AliExpress’s AI-driven compliance tools, streamlined payments, and a large customer base, boosting revenue with minimal effort.
“AliExpress already has a dedicated operations and compliance team on the ground in Australia, and we’re accelerating plans to roll out our local-to-local model here. While this year’s 6.18 Sale features our existing global seller base, it demonstrates the scale of demand that the platform can generate,” said Alfy Zhang, Country Manager at AliExpress ANZ.
“We’re actively engaging with Australian merchants so that, once the local model launches, they can harness the same proven playbook to expand their channels, boost sales and grow alongside us. Consumers benefit twice – enjoying unbeatable 6.18 deals today and, in the near future, gaining easier access to high-quality home-grown products across every category.”
As part of the 6.18 event, collectible brand Labubu will headline a livestream with popular key opinion leaders (KOLs) to feature rare and exclusive items. Viewers can shop in real-time, engage with hosts, and connect with the brand live from home.
