ALDI will open its second Townsville store in Burdell on Wednesday, October 29, at 8:30am, expanding its presence in North Queensland and bringing its “Good Different” shopping experience to more locals.

The new 1,100-square-metre store will offer a wide range of exclusive products, including fresh fruit and vegetables delivered daily, 100% Australian fresh meat, and ALDI’s well-known Special Buys.

It will also feature self-serve checkouts, a modern interior design, and a simple layout to help customers navigate the store easily.

The opening of ALDI Burdell has created 20 to 25 new full-time and part-time jobs, contributing to local employment growth in the area.

“The response from Townsville locals has been incredible, and we know many have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of our second ALDI store in Burdell,” said Tremaine Spillane, Regional Managing Director at ALDI Australia.

“We are so excited to meet this growing community demand, offering more families the chance to enjoy our award-winning products at prices that help stretch the weekly shop further.”

Spillane added that affordability remains a key focus for the supermarket.

“Now more than ever it’s important that Aussies have access to affordable groceries so it’s truly a pleasure for us to be able to reach even more people within the Townsville Region with our ‘Good Different’ shopping experience,” said Spillane.

“Our Price Promise remains the same from the day we opened our first store over 24 years ago – we won’t be beaten on the cost of your weekly shop. Having a 16.8 per cent price gap over our competitors, allows Aussie families to save around $3,000 a year. We look forward to welcoming the residents of Burdell to the store so they can discover the savings that can be made for themselves.”

Customers visiting the Burdell store for its grand opening will find an exclusive range of Special Buys, including a Cordless Stick Vacuum 2-in-1 for $99.99, a Petrol Mower for $299, and a 70-inch 4K UHD WebOS TV for $629.

ALDI’s shopping expert, Kylie Warnke, encouraged Burdell shoppers to explore the range of exclusive brands available.

“Customers who haven’t shopped with us before or those looking to find some new favourites, should grab a 99 cent trolley token and head in store to check out the amazing range that we have to offer,” said Warnke.
