AI data cloud company Snowflake has witnessed an increase its clients in Australia and New Zealand, primarily from the retail and consumer goods sectors.
The company cited David Jones, Workwear Group, MECCA, and Mitre 10 NZ as among its clients.
“Retailers are looking to break down data silos, democratise data, and unlock the value of their data as consumers increasingly go ‘digital-first’ when engaging with brands,” Theo Hourmouzis, SVP of ANZ and ASEAN at Snowflake, said.
“Further, local retailers see the potential of AI to provide better customer service as consumer expectations around the online experience increase dramatically. AI is fundamentally transforming how retailers operate and we’re helping some of Australia’s best-known brands to accelerate this transformation.”
Meanwhile, Snowflake has appointed Damien Ballesty in the newly created role of Head of Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).
Previously, Ballesty worked as chief information officer at Chemist Warehouse; GM of technology at Officeworks; head of IT for digital, data, and marketing at Coles; head of IT at Flybuys; and group IT director at Selfridges Group.
