Australian development company, Coronation Property, is transforming a heritage-listed warehouse in Liverpool, Sydney into a premium food, beverage and retail precinct.
The conversion will see the warehouse, built in 1914, converted into The Paper Mill. The precinct surrounding the Mill will include over 1,000 apartments and approximately 1,400 square metres of retail space.
Coronation Property managing director, Joe Nahas, said the aim is to bring the vibrant retail and food culture of Sydney’s inner west to the outer suburbs.
“It will bring together what people expect in Surry Hills or Erskineville,” he said. “The precinct will become the place where people can grab a coffee, meet up with friends and family for lunch or dinner or maybe grab some groceries.
“It has been designed to create a relaxing family vibe that will allow customers to take time out and absorb the atmosphere.”
Coronation hopes to attract high-quality retailers and other service providers like yoga studios and hairdressers that will cater to The Paper Mill residents as well as the greater Liverpool community.
“We will provide the connection between the indoor and outdoor lifestyle that people love and once The Paper Mill community is fully occupied, we will provide our retailers a captive audience of approximately 3,000 residents, as well as surrounding residents,” explained Nahas.
The conversion will highlight the warehouse’s heritage detail with pared back modern fixtures and fittings, and a retail style has been guide prepared by Bonnefin Property to give prospective tenants an understanding of Coronation’s vision for the Mill.
“We are keen for retailers to create exciting and contemporary concepts that are consistent with the stunning building conversion and have created a retail style guide to ensure the offerings fit with The Paper Mill’s brand and provide a contemporary retail experience,” said Bonnefin CEO, Angela Bonnefin.
“We want to provide an integrated and convenient retail experience for residents of The Paper Mill, which we anticipate will become a destination for the broader Liverpool community.”
Tenancies are expected to be ready in October 2017.
