Baskin-Robbins rolls out new store design

Ice creamery Baskin-Robbins continues to rollout its new international store design Happy 1.0 into its new restaurants built in Australia.

First unveiled in 2011, the company said the new store design aims to shape the look and experience of the brand for the future in global markets. It suggests a more contemporary feel, while highlighting the “Three-H’s” of Baskin-Robbins’ brand image: Heritage, Hospitality and Happiness.

The design has already been successfully introduced in Canada, England, Singapore and South Korea, and features textured walls reminiscent of waffle cones, ‘pink spoon’ door handles, digital/backlit menu boards, LCD displays, beautiful product photography and curled, lounge-style seating.

Several Australian restaurants incorporating the Happy 1.0 design have opened in the past year, including Mount Lawley in Western Australia and Hervey Bay, Coolum, Chatswood Central in Queensland as well as the ever-popular Cavill Mall restaurant on the Gold Coast.

An additional five restaurants are expected to open in the next two months across Queensland and Western Australia. Furthermore, a number of existing restaurants are undergoing refurbishments to upgrade to the new design, including Fremantle and Joondalup in Western Australia, Camberwell in Melbourne and Circular Quay in Sydney.

“We are excited to be introducing the new international store design nationwide,” said Ian Martin, general manager, Baskin-Robbins Australia.

“This innovative design is unique to Baskin-Robbins. We are pleased that we have been able to achieve lower construction costs without compromising on the sleek look and modern feel, which we hope will enhance our guests’ overall experience.”
