Press release by RetailWorld Resourcing
Anybody who has spent time looking for a job knows just how stressful it can be. Having to put yourself out there, spruiking your good points in the hopes of impressing potential employers. It can be time consuming, frustrating and disheartening.
CEO of Retailworld Resourcing John Caldwell, gives his opinion as to why recruitment agencies are a good approach.
"One of the things that we do is identify the long term happiness of the client. This goes further than just placing them in a role. It means that we will look at where they want to be five, ten years down the road and help them plan to get there.
"Working for an agency also means we are able to find opportunities for candidates that they might not have had access to."
The first port of call for many jobseekers are websites such as Seek, CareerOne and MyCareer. Often these sites don't show all of the jobs that are available. Many companies choose not to advertise and instead go directly through an agency.
According to John, the specialised nature of recruitment agencies means they can provide a better service than many companies are equipped to do. "In many companies, the HR person is looking after payroll, dealing with employee conflicts as well as countless other tasks throughout the day. Because of that recruitment agencies are able to be more thorough when conducting interviews and reference checks."
Recruitment agencies provide job seekers with access to a large number of companies and an even larger variety of roles. Account managers look after a number of businesses, but also have access to the businesses that other staff recruit for.
There are things that job seekers can do to help recruiters get them into a role.
"Job seekers need to know what they want. What I mean by that is they need to go into a meeting with a recruiter and be certain where they want their career to go. And do some research before you meet an interviewer, this will give you an edge when meeting a potential employer and will help us sell you to them."
If you are beginning the job searching process, consider using a recruitment agency. Their knowledge and experience can help you find the role you are properly suited for.
And don't forget, it's free!
