Myer is set to go under large organisational restructure after completing its turnaround phase and entering its growth period.

The turnaround phase saw the rollout of its new point-of-sale system and the near completion of its Myer Melbourne redevelopment.

As part of the growth stage, at least 16 new managers will be appointed in the next two months across merchandise, business services, finance, marketing, electrical, entertainment and IT.

Commenting about the staff shuffling, Myer CEO Bernie Brooks said: “The depth of talent in the senior management ranks at Myer is exceptional, and this is evidenced not only by the calibre of the appointments announced today, but also the scale and success of what has been achieved at Myer over the past five years.

“This announcement reflects the conclusion of the major part of our turnaround phase, including the successful rollout of our new point of sale system and the near completion of our world-class Myer Melbourne store development.

“We are now moving into an unprecedented period of growth and expansion for Myer and I am confident we now have the right team and leadership structure in place to take the company forward into the growth phase.”

Myer has also commenced a review of its future IT strategy and will announce an appointment of General Manager IT over the coming months.
