In response to AMP Capital Shopping Centres (AMPCSC)’s latest research report Recommended Retail Practice (RRP), AMPCSC has partnered with chef and Marie Claire cookbook author Michele Cranston.

As part of its partnership with Marie Claire, AMPCSC customers will receive a copy of the new Marie Claire Fresh + Fast cookbook by Michele Cranston when they spend a certain amount at the centre.

The new partnership is a result of extensive research into the spending habits of Australian shoppers, which has found that 60 per cent of customers are spending in the food, grocery and liquor category when in a shopping centre and 26 per cent are spending more on take-home food and groceries than they were this time last year.

The RRP report also found a surge in spending on fresh food to cook in the home, with 85 per cent of people stating they are unwilling to give up quality meat and vegetables (of those that purchase in this category).

“AMPCSC believes that understanding consumer behaviour and spending intent is one way that the shopping centre owner can offer ongoing support to its retailers,” says Stuart Langeveldt, AMPCSC head of marketing and communication.

“… The Fresh + Fast recipes can be easily prepared at home, using the freshest of ingredients, fulfilling the community  increase in home cooking and the consistently strong spend on take-home food and groceries.”

As part of the Fresh + Fast campaign, Michele Cranston will be on hand to do cooking demonstrations at various centres, bringing her latest cookbook to life, and provide tips on fresh and fast healthy eating.

Each participating centre will also give away a $2000 Marie Claire and KitchenAid Homewares package to one lucky customer. The prize consists of a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, pasta roller and fettucine cutter attachment and Marie Claire homewares pack.
