Coles Express has been named Major Retailer of the Year by the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS).
The awards recognise the quality of the partnerships between retailers and suppliers and measure performance throughout the year, as judged by AACS supplier members.
Coles Express general manager merchandise and marketing, Peter Struck, said this is the second year in a row that Coles Express has taken out this top award and also confirms AC Neilson results that show Coles Express is the fastest growing c-store for three years running.
"The awards highlight the strong relationships that our buyers have with our suppliers. As a result, we’re able to negotiate great deals for our customers.”
"This award is also a fantastic boost for our team and highlights our commitment to driving innovation and growth in key product categories," he said.
Peter said Coles Express works closely with suppliers to spread the word to customers about new products.
"Our customers love trying new products and we're always looking at opportunities to be 'first to market'. The Wrigley's 5 gum launch was a recent prime example of a new product that's getting some real cut through to our customers – and we’re happy to be part of the excitement.”
Advantage Group surveyed AACS supplier members with a focus on category management, innovation, accessibility and communication.
Coles Express has more than 620 stores located across Australia.
